There are a lot of companies offering windscreen repair and replacement across Scotland but very few that offer the breadth experience and local reputation offered by Strathclyde Windscreens. After 30 years in the job, we have pretty much seen and dealt with every conceivable type of glass damage. We’ve seen many models of car come and go, updates to codes and regulations and all kinds of technological advances, however Strathclyde Windscreens are always learning and adapting to offer the same great quality service.

This week, we are continuing our series of blogs where we feature a different town or city across one of the areas we cover across Scotland and today it’s time to shine the spotlight on;

Cumbernauld

Nestled between the Forth and Clyde and home (since the 1990’s) to Clyde FC, Cumbernauld is a quintessential Scottish “New Town”. New Town’s were a socio-economic feature after the second world war, where town planners attempted to encourage relocation of urban people away from poor and war damaged areas to specially designed towns that offered better quality of life. For Cumbernauld that meant that many families who settled in the New Town were originally from Glasgow and Cumbernauld has an undeniable Glaswegian vibe. Another fun fact about Cumbernauld is that it is home to Britain’s first shopping centre. However, Cumbernauld’s history goes back as far as the Roman era, where it formed one of the forts on the Antonine Wall (giving the shopping centre its name). And if we get a call out in that neck of the woods, we often pop in to Cafe Alba for lunch who do a mean strawberry tart.

If you require our help with windscreen damage in the area, we offer excellent services at competitive prices, no job is too small and we are always happy to help.
